Hon. Rev. Dr. Jayme Mathias

Hon. Rev. Dr. Jayme Mathias serves as pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church, the only inclusive Catholic community in Austin, Texas. As a Roman Catholic priest for over ten years, he served as President of San Juan Diego Catholic High School and as Pastor of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, which he grew to be Austin’s largest Spanish-language congregation, with 4,000 people attending its nine Sunday masses. After leaving the Roman Church in 2011, Father Jayme was elected to the Austin ISD Board of Trustees for eight years, where he represented a district of 55,000 voters and helped to oversee the 80,000 students and 11,000 employees of Austin’s 120 public schools. With two undergraduate degrees, four graduate degrees, and a Ph.D. from Roman Catholic universities, Father Jayme is passionate about education. He enjoys writing, teaching, exercise, world travel, and bragging on Catholicism’s best-kept secret: Inclusive Catholicism!
